Objects of the Act

The South Australian Liquor Act contains a specific reference to the live music industry

  1. to further the interests of the liquor industry and industries with which it is closely associated—such as the live music industry, tourism and the hospitality industry—within the context of appropriate regulation and controls;

Definitions of entertainment

The South Australian Liquor Regulations 1997 has a definition of entertainment that requires approval for large screens:

5— Definition of entertainment

For the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of "entertainment" in section 4 of the Act, entertainment includes a visual display but not if provided by means of a television screen the dimensions of which do not exceed 2 metres by 2 metres.
