Environmental Protection
Environmental protection standards around the country are based on similar specifications.
The difference from a creative industries perspective in this area is how certain states assist In education with reference publications and resources. The Western Australian Keeping It in the Mix website is by far the best example of a supporting resource for environmental protection issues for entertainment venues, with Brisbane City Council publishing good references for Fortitude Valley special entertainment precinct, and the ACT having a simple but effective two page document.
Note that Queensland and the ACT are able to vary permissible noise limits according to the approved land use through local laws, with the Queensland Liquor Act also allowing a higher permissible noise level from licensed premises in approved zoned areas.
